Our goal is to give “essential touch” so that there is a relaxing time mentally and spiritually to help restore self-esteem, and a sense of well-being.
The man is given facial pampering, hand and foot massage. A clean shave is offered, and for those losing hair possibly even head shaving to help with the emotional aspects of hair loss. Our Mission and hope is to leave each man feeling emotionally stronger and refreshed, ready to face the day.
Our FIM volunteers also help to empower spouses and young adults so that they too can offer care to their husband/father. Adding comfort with compassion from a soothing touch to the men they love.
Men also are invited to our monthly teas (link) and encouraged to take part. Our Mission is to grow this outreach as it is the only one of its kind in the US.
Products all pure and botanical are given freely to each patient, and replacements are available upon request.
Face in the Mirror Volunteers working in the division of FIM4MEN see the same patient over the course of the year many times and so many form friendships that give a feeling of warmth and comfort to the patient when they see a” friendly face” walk in with the pink FIM jacket and wearing a smile.
